Agra Metro fare is not a flat city-wide ticket. Public explainers describe a station-count slab: you pay for how many stations you cross, not a printed kilometre map. That is why a hop from Fatehabad Road to Taj East Gate costs less than a full Yellow Line ride once more stations open.
Agra Metro ticket price (indicative)
A one-station ride is commonly listed near ₹10. Two stations are often about ₹15. Three to six stations sit near ₹20. Longer hops are quoted around ₹30, ₹40 and ₹50. These figures are planning numbers. The gate, TVM or official app is the source of truth on the day you travel.

Token vs QR vs smart card
Tourists visiting the Taj Mahal usually buy a QR ticket or a counter token, ride once or twice, and exit. Residents who commute on the open stretch save time and money with an NCMC / GoSmart stored-value card. The discount is typically about 10% versus token fare. There is no hotel-issued “Agra Metro pass” that this site can recommend.
Children, seniors and tourists
Children below the published height mark (often 90 cm on UPMRC networks) may travel free if the notice at the counter still says so. Senior concessions, if any, are operator circulars — ask staff, do not argue at the flap. Luggage is not a fare class; oversized bags can be refused at security even if you paid.

Is Agra Metro cheaper than an auto to the Taj?
On the open Yellow Line, yes for most tourist hours, provided you are already near a station. An auto from a far hotel to Taj East Gate is a different trip. Metro fare only covers the paid corridor.
Do I need cash?
Keep UPI ready. Some counters still take cash. Do not depend on a single QR screenshot from a hotel WhatsApp group.
