Three legitimate ways exist in modern UPMRC practice: a token from the counter or TVM, a QR ticket from the official app, and a smart card. Hotel photocopies, WhatsApp PDFs and “agent QR” codes are not tickets. If a gate rejects you, go to customer care — do not jump the flap.
Tourist pattern
If you will ride twice (Taj belt to Fort belt and back), two QR tickets or a small smart-card load both work. Keep your phone charged; underground stations are hard on battery and signal. Download the QR on hotel Wi-Fi before you travel. There is no guaranteed branded “Taj tourist pass” on this portal.
Rules that surprise visitors
Enter and exit with the same product. Overstay and penalty fares follow operator bye-laws. Children below the published height mark (often 90 cm in UPMRC networks) may be free — ask the counter rather than guessing. UPI is common but not guaranteed when the network drops, so carry a backup.
